Born 1919: Forrest Tucker, actor, straight man Sgt. Morgan O'Rourke on TV's comedy western, "F Troop" (1965-67). His film comedies include "Auntie Mame" (1958) and "The Night They Raided Minsky's" (1968). Died 1986.

Born 1953: Joanna Kerns, actress, appeared opposite Alan Thicke in the "Growing Pains" family sitcom (1985-92).

1993: Bill Murray's "Groundhog Day" opened in U.S. theatres.

Born 1955: Arsenio Hall, comedian, TV host (1989-94: "The Arsenio Hall Show"), actor (1988: "Coming to America").

Born 1980: Christina Ricci, actress, the movies' Wendy Addams in "The Addams Family" (1991) and "Addams Family Values" (1993). Among her other comedies: Disney's "That Darn Cat" (1997) and John Waters' "Pecker" (1998).

2000: Succumbing to cancer, "Peanuts" creator Charles Schulz died on the eve of his final comic strip being published.
